Anyone listen to 92.3 KRock?

Original post by Jax430

They seem to have changed their format. They're no longer alternative, just pure rock. I like rock, but I listened to krock for alternative stuff, especially for some punk (yes, I have very eclectic taste). I'm so annoyed! I can't get 106.3 (a great alternative N.J station) here in Queens, and now 92.3 doesn't play alternative either!!!

I knew it was coming I heard it yesterday morning. I heard the big anouncment during howard. Then I heard some of the music. Its just not Krock. When we were in Florida they had an awesome station they played todays rock and some 90's like White Zombie we even heard Pantera about a dozen times. We were hoping that this is what the new Format would be but no luck. I do have to admit I liked some of the stuff they played but I would have liked to have a NEW station to play it and leave Krock alone.

I remember the days when Q was Krock and Krock was Q. I felt the same way back then

It happens every day. It just ***** when it's a long standing known format. Maybe they weren't getting the ratings they needed at the other time slots. howard's going to create a huge revenue loss for Infinity and they are trying to find a way to ease it ... but I don;t know if going after Q104.3 is going to work. It think 104.3 has pretty much established it's listener base after all these years. I wonder if theya re going to position it as soemthing a little different. We definitely don't need 2 classic rock stations in the NY market.

I agree!!!!!! It makes no sense to have 2. Krock has to change back or someone MUST pick up the alternative niche!!!

Maybe one of the stations in the Nassau/Suffolk market will pick up the format. There are a few that are in the process of being sold so maybe they'll get the switch.
I doubt any CC stations will change, their station's formats are pretty well established.

Thats what Im saying - no matter what happens in the future and regardless of how completely ridiculous this change is - KROCK is gone!

I haven't been likeing the station for a while, so maybe this will be good. The newer stuff they had been palying just wasn't good nor was it all that alternative.
Q104- I can listen too sometimes, but then they get on Led Zepelin blocks--and it just never ends!
my new favorite station is actually a small station in Westchester.

I havent' noticed a change lately....but I only listen to them on the way to and from work....and in the morning it's Howard Stern....so there's no music at all...

Why can't I imagine the Duchess of Orples listening to Howard Stern?

Jeez, unbelievable. That was the only good station left. There are plenty of 'classic rock' stations. Krock did get kind of out there for a while - playing the same songs over and over an over again - and then they got into that white stripes (and similar) phase.

But, it doesnt hurt me much as I got Sirius for Christmas. And I love it. I haven't listened to regular radio for 5 months.

There are about 20 rock stations on Sirius, going all the way from classic rock, modern rock, hard rock, alternative, rap/rock, etc. New bands are played more on satellite, Great bands like Crazy Angelos, Skindred, The Bravery are all 'mainstream' on Satellite radio, just to name a few.

I recommend it for anyone - its the best 12.00 I spend a month. Dump lunch for 2 days a month; and listen to great music everyday.

And no worry about FCC censorship, but let's not go there..
