they were asking people if they would accept an engagement ring that was his moms. but then they were talking about what if the parents were divorced. how would you ladies react to that? i personally do not know if i would be too keen wearing a ring that was my FMIL from a failed marriage (although my FIL's are still married) . I dont know.. just seems weird. What do you think??
eta... Im not saying I wouldnt feel comfortable because it would be sort of a 'jinx' because I dont believe in that stuff, I am just thinking what could of positive side be to this? ' I just dont get it.

my cousin gave his fiance--now wife his mom's stone--he had it reset though--and his parent's are divorced. i personally wouldn't want it one for the jinx factor and 2 because i think that everyone is unique and should have their own stone. but they did save a lot of $ and his wife atleast got a different setting.

I couldn't do it. I am superstitious enough not to want to wear a ring from a failed marriage. But even if it was a family heirloom, I would rather have my own stone/ring...Each relationship is different, and I feel like the old ring is not a reflection of our relationship. Does that make any sense?
