I grew up in the next town - Lynbrook. There's lots to do there. Lots of restaurants etc.
They have a train station which is great for access to the city.
I actually looked at houses there but the taxes are insane.

11'er crashing - I live in Baldwin, right next door - in walking distance of RVC. Great place to live - lots of stuff to do and great access to the city.
But like the other bride said - taxes are nuts - it's an incorporated village so that adds to that. Schools are suposed to be pretty great too.

We are looking at houses there too! I know a bunch of people that live there, and they love it! I am close by in Long Beach, and we go there for dinners and stuff all the time

I dunno, starting to think of that instead of staying in Queens for easier agility to his job and his kids. I don't mind either way cuz you get more for your money than Queens but the TAXES!!! YIKES!

I don't live there but I have a friend who does....He and his fiance LOVE it and I love going there. It's a great town... just watch if you're buying a house because not all of RVC is in the RVC school district.
