Anyone live in west bayshore......or

know about the school district my fh and i are looking at houses ...tyia...if you dont want to say please FM me....

I'm a music teacher in bayshore school district. I hope that's the district you would be living in. The district has a lot of money, and the budget has never failed. I work in the middle school behind the bayshore mall. Bayshore is a very mixed district and can be a little rough, but you can find all kinds of kids whether they are very rich, from the brightwaters area, those that are middle class, and those that are very poort. I don't think it's such a bad thing to see all these types of people in one district. Gives you a little perspective and the kids can find a place to fit in.
And I have to say the music department is fantastic!!!! Check out the website too www.bayshore.k12.ny.us

I grew up in Bay Shore and went through the school district, and I loved it. It's a great school district, a lot of diversity, a lot of different programs for children to get involved with. Their special ed department is fantastic (my brother is autistic and is mainstreamed), I was involved in the music program which is phenomenal, and the teachers I had were wonderful. I had a great experience in Bay Shore.

i believe the house is in school district 1.....is that the same as bayshore?

I wasn't sure, so I googled it, and it looks like School District #1 is some kind of real estate term, because it had it listed for Valley Stream, Merrick, and Babylon too.

That might just refer to what elementary school and middle school (if there's more than 1) that kids will go to.

district 1 is a real estate term but I'm not sure what #1 is in suffolk county.

for future reference...valley stream is districts #13, #24, and #30

Merrick is #25 and #29

I live in Bay Shore....I just moved there in September. I know that when we were looking at houses FH (who is from Bay Shore) would tell me yes or no as far as the schools. If you found houses and know what streets they are on FM me if you want and I will help you!
