Anyone make jewelry?

I was wondering where you get your supplies. I usually shop Michael's, but was wondering if anyone had any good places I should check out.

Thanks!

In Manhattan there is an area in the 30s around 5th avenue that has quite a few bead and jewelry supply shops. Ive been in them for other projects but many of the people in there were shopping to make their own jewlery.

What sort of jewelry do you make and what sort of supplies are you looking for? There are a lot of bead stores on 38th street, between 5th & 6th in the city, and a few on 6th, south of 38th (on the east side of the street) Some are wholesale, but some sell to both. Also check out Tinsel Trading when you''re on 38th street.

I used have a fashion jewelry business and sometimes ordered from Rio Grande for findings and such. Here''s the link... Rio Grande

Eastern Findings is another good source - they are on 34th street near 5th ave.

I just started recently, so I've only been working with glass beads. I just bought a few books off amazon, so I hope to learn how to work in clay and metal.
