Re: Anyone making their own centerpieces?
I thought of doing this myself to save an extra buck but I know the day of, I will want to go to the hall and decorate it myself so it looks perfect. I won't be able to do this. Besides what I wanted 3 months ago is not what I want now, so I will need a florist's help. And also my mother has her own ideas which I am leaning towards . What about having glass bowls with lillies floating in water. You can have votive candles around it with rose petals on the table. I believe Nina is doing something similar-she gave me this idea I know Michael's sells the bowls and I think they had them on sale at about 2 for $1 (I could be off) last week or the week before. Keep an eye out every Sunday for their circular. They always have a sale on candles, bowls, vases and more. You should stop by there too to get ideas and the employees are more than happy to help. I visited the one in Levittown and there is a counter for silk flower arrangements. I am pretty sure others have the same counter to help you with any ideas you may have if the Levittown store is not close to you.

Re: Anyone making their own centerpieces?
I made my own centerpeices. I really love doing stuff like that and couldn't see spending a lot of money when I felt that I would be happier with my own work. I got all my materieals at Michaels and had a good time making them. I bought the little bowls (like cw0904 suggested). They were pretty inexpensive, about $1 each. I filled the bowls with pink tulle and then put one dozen pink (different shades) silk roses in each bowl. Then I tied a ribbon around each bowl. They came out really pretty.

i used different sized pillar candles (kmart $10 per table) on a square mirror base (michaels). I will be having some flowers going around it from a florist thought.

I will try to take a picture and post it. I know how to take pictures with my digital camera I just need to figure out how to get them on my computer.
