Re: Anyone met with...

We are going with Duet and were very impressed with their work and flexiblity to work with our budget. Nothing was set in stone with them. I'll talk to my fiancee , she met with patken and a few others. I went with her to see Imagine, Sherwood Triart, and Duet.

It was one of those things I knew after meeting with them for a few minutes. I did go back and asked lots of questions and met with staff. For us it was important to have everthing in house. I didn't want the Photo not working well and communicating with the Video people. All those ' extras ' were included. Just ask. FM me and go to the Official Thread By Nora for Duet. Duet

The website for them is www.duetweddings.com

I have found the boards most helpful but it comes down to how comfortable you felt with them. Like the reception halls and photographers she loved I didn't feel comfortable with them.

My AIM is the same name so if i'm on feel free to IM me.

Best Wishes to you both and Congratulations.

Remember it's both your day

Baldshrimp... GoingNutty didn't ask about Duet. You have been doing quit a bit of Duet pedaling lately. I understand you are happy with your decision as I am also but you are starting to sound like Duet's advertising service.

FH and I booked Patken for our wedding for both photography and vidography. Obviously we happy with what we have seen - it seems to be our style and the price was reasonable compared to other places we say (for what we wanted). I can't recommend anyone since I haven't used them but I can tell you what I liked...they obviously made a good impression on me.

We both liked:

-The style and quality of the albums and work we saw.

- The people we dealt with were very friendly and not overbearing. Completely understood when we said we weren't interested in something and left it at that.

- Didn't go overboard with the 'WE ARE SO GREAT' garbage.

- Allowed us to basically create our own package and eliminate unnecessary expenses.

- Giving a free engagement shoot

- Guarantee at least 250 proofs plus negatives.

HTH!

Re: Anyone met with...

I just saw proline and jeffrey studios at the watermill showcase. I also went to proline's studio last week. I loved proline's video and i thought their photos were good and their pricing was average. However, when i went to the showcase i was better able to compare them and i found that i (personally) like jeffrey studio's better. I thought their pictures were better and their photojournalism was also much nicer.....keep in mind that everyone expects different things from photos.

I also saw cassarino studios and really liked them. My cousin used them for her wedding a year and a half ago and her album is gorgeous!!!!

I dont know much about the others. hope this helps

My FI and I just booked with Patken... WE are getting the Soho album.. we fell in love with it immediately... the good thing about them is they asked us what we wanted to pay and made a plan around that... they didn't try to push anything else on us.. FI saw the book and loved it, even though it was much more expensive, it wasn't pressured on us! I loved all of their pictures and was really comfortable with them!

We met w/ North Shore Photog. They were fine. I guess we're just more into b&w and photojournalism so we we're not going with them.

My best friend went w/ proline and was very happy w/ them.

I know what you are saying.....this is done so much its a little scary!

Anyway from your list I met with Patken. Their work was by far the best I have seen out of anyones but the price was out of my league. We are going with Twelfth Night. Good luck to you - take your time and make the right decision. It was the hardest decision for us!
