Anyone newly PG feel terrified??

I do. I feel so overwhelmed and nervous. I'm scared of what will happen to my body...I'm scared of labor/delivery...I'm scared to be a mom...I'm scared of finances!!! Is this all normal to feel? I'm 32 and thought I would be more 'ready' for this...now that I am PG I feel like I won't be able to handle things...

Did anyone else go through this?

I know I did. I still feel overwhelmed sometimes. I think your fears are perfectly normal and with time some will subside. Although, I will admit my fear of labor/delivery is still there. At 25 weeks I feel like I have been pregnant forever and wish the baby would come but at the same time I still feel I need a little more time to prepare myself for being a mommy. I think that is why mother nature gives us 9 months to prepare for this life changing beautiful event.

Re: Anyone newly PG feel terrified??

Motherhood is the most terrifying experience EVER. No matter how prepared you may actually be you feel like you are so unprepared. Although I already have one baby I dont feel prepared for another (but I better get my but in gear cause I dont have much time left!). There are so many unknowns. You know labor and delivery is going to hurt but you have no idea what its REALLY going to feel like. You know you will have to support this little helpless baby for atleast the next 18 years... but somehow you know you will do whatever is necessary to take care of them. You know you are going to get a belly and there will be a moving baby in there but you dont know the extent that it will move and kick and punch and how weird it really does feel when there is no room.

On the other hand you DO know how much love you will have for the little life you've created. You DO know you will bend over backwards to make sure the baby has anything and everything it needs (and most things it doesn't). And although you may screw up a few times you are entitled to make mistakes. No one is perfect. You learn as you go and eventually you will be a pro. Just relax and enjoy this experience because before you know it your baby will be 2 1/2 and independent and you will wonder where your little helpless baby went.

Thanks! I feel a bit better. I'm going to the Dr. tonight...they said that they have a policy to see someone within 7 days of calling. I thought that was weird! Anyway, I'm off to the Dr. at 5:15pm to see what he says. I assume that they'll do a pap, history, blood and of course another urine test to be sure. What else can I expect?

Possibly an internal sono!! Be prepared for the condom wand I told my doc I was prego and they never did a 2nd pee test to make sure I was prego they do internals and can tell that way.

What you're feeling is very normal. It will all work itself out and you'll start to feel more comfortable as the pregnacy progresses...congrats!!!
