FH and i have to go to our RH and finalize everything , and i find out that the covers are an extra $5 a head. thats alot even if its the normal price range, i think we are going to skip, we just cant keep adding things on.. we are doing enough. does it look too bare without them though???

Re: anyone not doing chair covers
personally, i'm doing them, but my RH includes them in the price. but, i've been to/seen pics of weddings at my RH where, even though the covers were free, people chose not to use them. so i think it's fine if you don't.
but, i'd just let you know, you should negotiate that price down if you want them. the scotto bros. definitely will - when i toured westbury manor i got him to throw them in FOR FREE, and that's also a scotto property.

Re: anyone not doing chair covers
we were NOT doing chair covers and refused to pay the extra $$ for it. but in a twist of fate---when we got to our RH there were chair covers that day! i think the bride AFTER us that day paid for them and they wouldn't have time to put them on between weddings or something. so we lucked out
i think its a nice touch--but if we didn't have them that day, it wouldn't have mattered. i was okay without them

Re: anyone not doing chair covers
I think it depends on the chairs themselves and if they go with your theme if you have one. If i stick to my color choices i'm not gonna be using covers... i agree, they are expensive

Re: anyone not doing chair covers
I personally don't like chair covers. I know that's not a typical statement...but they annoy me - when I have to sit on them.

I am doing them as well, bec my RH provides them at no extra cost. I dont know how recent my halls chairs are so I'll keep them covered, lol

Not me, I love the chairs my RH has. Plus they're gold and that's one of my colors!

Re: anyone not doing chair covers
we aren't doing chair covers but my rh's chairs are BEAUTIFUL!!! they so don't need it... if you can live without them don't do it.... I don't think it is necessary unless they are awful.

I'm not doing them. I think to myself...hrm...$5 a head...times 100 people or so...yeah, I'd rather have the cash to be put towards something else!!
Plus, the chairs in the WGP room at the Fox Hollow are so pretty!
I see you're a Fox Hollow bride, too - yayyy!

Re: anyone not doing chair covers
Nope - not doing
My place is modern and I find most chair covers to be traditional looking
Dont sweat it!

Re: anyone not doing chair covers
I don't remember what the chairs look like at FH. $5 is a lot of money. honestly, unless the chairs are really ugly, no one will notice.
I am not doing them because North Ritz Club has Chivari chairs and there is no need to cover them up.

Re: anyone not doing chair covers
I didn't do them, and I don't regret it at all. It wasn't worth the money to me. I'd only have considered it if the RH chairs were really awful. Our hall had very nice chairs, though, so there was no real justification for the expense. They look nice, but I'm not in love with that look. I didn't feel like spending more for them. No one missed them. Please remember -- people only notice what is there, not what isn't.

not doing them either -- i personally feel that people don't really care either -- I'd rather spend the extra money on something else

Re: anyone not doing chair covers
we are not doing chair covers. it costs $4 a chair for each cover, but get this: my RH has chairs that use chair pads (cushions) and the pads they come with are black - and to get white ones is $3 a chair!! it's not a huge difference in price but i figure i can save about $150 by just getting white cushions...
