Is this a requirement? Do people get offended if you don't do them? We really don't have the money...

though i was considering making info packets for OOTers (directions, things to do in the area, schedule, and a welcome letter) ... but that fell through recently since i just don't care that much

I was going to, but then didn't do them coz the only ones staying at the hotel were my closest family and my MOH.
It was one thing on my list of 'Definitely Don't Need to Do This'.

I didn't do them! I originally was going to b/c I thought they were a great idea but honestly, most of the people staying at the hotel were just close friends and fam so I knew they wouldnt mind. Also things got so crazy towards the end of wedding planning that I didnt have time to do it lol

I'm doing them. I love when I get one when we stay at a hotel for a wedding! You can get boxes for like $0.75 each and get food from Price Club.
But they are TOTALLY not required and will probably not be missed.

I definitely would have until a few weeks ago at a hotel in S. Jersey, there was a wedding going to happen later in the day and I saw the OOTers checking in and getting their bags. I physically saw a couple dump out the bag with water, crackers, the map, etc. and use the tote for their own things. They gave my nephew the personalized bottle of water...I said right then, he!! no!
