Thanks Girls

I am not, and tons of people don't get married in a church. There are lots of officiants to choose from. Call some that you see in magazines and see if you like them. Good luck!

I am not getting married in a church either.

We are using Cantor Harris Cohen as or officiant. He is a vendor on the boards. And he happened to be our house clergy at the hall.

Call and meet with lots of people until you feel comfortable with the person and the price.

Good Luck

We're also getting married at our hall. We're either having FHs cousin (who is a monsingior) officiate or FHs younger sister might become ordained. We haven't decided yet 'cause FH hasn't spoken with his cousin as of yet.

We're getting married at our hall (hopefully outside - if Mother Nature is kind to us!). I would like to have a minister, but haven't decided who yet.

We are getting married at our reception site, outdoors weather permitting. I am in the process of contacting an officiant.

We are not....we are hoping to use FH's old youth pastor who lives out of state now and if not, we have another out of state back up.

Re: Anyone Not Getting Married in a Chruch

We did not get married in a RC Church as we hoped due to unforseen circumstances (long story) as we are both Catholics.

Instead we got married in a non-denomial chapel, UN Chapel with our officiant:
Reverend Karl W. Gillmeister. He was very good, very dramatic, good and loud speaking voice, very flexible with your schedule and time, very dependable and reliable. He also accomodate some of our requests with having a unity candle and gave us choices of reading and vow styles: traditional, contemporary, or modern. We chose traditional vows and a mixture of modern and traditional readings. He also accomodate us having 2 readings by our wedding party.
