Re: Anyone NOT having a bridal party?
I think you sort of need a bridal party.... I believe it can be as low as 2 people.... but their official function is to serve as witnesses of the marriage and toe vouch for free will of the bride and groom to enter into their union...
I know that's a Catholic thing, but what are the requirements for other faiths, and does a civil ceremony have those requirements, I'm not as sure....

Re: Anyone NOT having a bridal party?
Just a MOH (my sister) for me, too. The first thing one of my closest friends said to me after I got engaged was: 'I'm so happy for you, just please don't ask me to be a bridesmaid!!' Having been in a few weddings myself, I completely understood her feelings. I want my friends to be there to celebrate and enjoy the day with me, without all the added stress and expense of being in my wedding party.

Re: Anyone NOT having a bridal party?
Almost didnt have anyone but my MOH and Fh's best man, but then we threw in my three cousins and my brother. They are all under 21 years of age so they dont give much imput so its really like we just dress them and tell them to show up lol..almost like not having a bridal party!

Re: Anyone NOT having a bridal party?
I'm not haing a BP. It's an added stress & allot of my friends are in grad school. I couldn't imagine asking them to shell out money knowing their financial situation. Plus it's one less thing I have to coordinate. Lastly I would have to get a limo, gifts, etc & we're trying to keep costs down.

Re: Anyone NOT having a bridal party?
I will most likely not have a bridal party - just a maid of honor and best man, and I'd like to include our nieces and nephews . A bridal party is not required by my church, and I am Catholic - although I am not sure if others might require it, as policies seem to vary greatly. I am on a tight budget, and eliminating a large bridal party will be a great savings for us.
