So, I'm really not into parties..at all lol. My family threw me an engagement party. I didn't want one, they knew that too, but would not take no for an answer. I'm not having a large bridal party only a MOH and possibly 1 bridesmaid who I didn't ask yet. My MOH is having a baby 4 months before my wedding so I really don't expect her with a newborn and all to throw a shower. Should I just tell everyone straight out don't throw me one.

You don't have to do anything that you don't want to do. Just make sure that the people who would be organizing it know that you're dead-set against it so there's no confusion.

I really don't want one either. We had an engagement party and I think that should cover it. I told my mom and my sister (MOH) so I think there will definitely be no surprises.

Re: Anyone not having a shower
I do not think I will be having a shower. I feel funny expecting people to buy me gifts for my 'new married life' when we have been living together for five years already.
I think FMIL may throw me something small, but if it was up to me...I dont really care.

Re: Anyone not having a shower
I am not having and E-party and really don't want a shower either. I feel like I just want people to come to our wedding to celebrate with us. That's it end of story.
If I were you I would also tell the people who would throw it you really don't want one

I've been torn about this too. I feel bad as well b/c we've been living together for two years as of now, going on 3 when we get married.
Everyone is telling me to do it, so if I do, I want it simple. I'd like it in someone's house and very small.
