Anyone not having readings during their ceremony?

I was just thinking about this and wondered if anyone else was not having readings during their ceremony? FH and I are getting married at the RH...well, actually on the beach and we are using Pastor April. We put our ceremony together by using a lot of her stuff on her website and as I was doing it the thought never crossed my mind to include readings for people to read. As I sit here and think about this I still don't find it necessary for me, not to say that people that are incorporating readings in their ceremony are wrong for doing so.

Anyone else not having readings during their ceremony?

Readings are a nice touch but since we are also getting married at the RH we decided to skip them. Also-I have been the one in my family that has been asked to do readings at weddings in the past and I was ALWAYS nervous before hand!

That's exactly the way I felt about it too...that's why we didn't do it.

I didn't have ANY readings. The ceremony was short and sweet.

No readings here. I would like it short and sweet. Yes, it's an important day and should be enjoyed, but I don't want to prolong it. I would much rather be with my FH and guests after the 'I Do' and have some fun!

This is exactly how I feel - but the priest insists on having a reading from the old testament and one from the new testament. Our ceremony is going to be way longer than I want it to be. There are like 17 different things we have to do. AND it's at the RH too. Plus - FH is catholic but I am jewish and want nothing to do with the religion stuff. We're having an interfaith wedding.
