Anyone not having reception cards with your invites? (w/ POLL)
I was ordering my invites and the woman said that a lot of people are now writing the reception information right on the invitation instead of using a separate reception card. How does everyone feel about this? It eliminated people losing the reception card with the info and saves a bit of money. FYI the invite I want is oversized so it wouldn't look squished if I did it.

I'm not having a reception card b/c I'm getting married at the hall.
You should get a proof of your invite b/4 they print it, so you have time to change your mind. FYI....you may have to pay more for the change after the proof, but it's better than not liking your invites.

I never even considered having reception cards. Sounds to me like a big waste of paper and money. Unless you have a lot of people you are inviting to the church but not to the hall, I don't see the point.

No reception card, getting married at the hall. On the bottom of the invite I wrote 'cocktails and dinner reception to follow'.

I am having the reception card... to me, the most important part of my day is the Mass... I want that info. to be separate from the reception, so that is why I want the reception card. Also, I would say the vast majority of my guests will be coming to the ceremony. i also think it will look too crowded to have everything all one card. for those havign their ceremony at the same place as the reception, i think it's very appropriate.

If you are getting married at the hall, I think that's a great way to go. If you are getting married elsewhere, then I'd try it, get a proof and see how you like it. If you are looking at oversized invites, I think you'd probably be good to go!
Two of my friends did no reception cards, one was a ceremony/reception at the same place so it wasn't a factor. The other friend had a pretty small invite and the reception was elsewhere, and I think it was written in like 6 pt font bc the invite was so small! Looked weird because it was so squished.

My invite was a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 square. I could have put all the info on the invite, but I didn't like the way it looked vs. having a separate reception card.
