Anyone not having their sister at MOH?

Anyone not having their sister at MOH?

For those with sisters, are any of you not having her as your MOH? My family is on my back about not choosing my 15yr old sister as my MOH. For one, we're not that close. Shes immature for her age, has too much childish drama in her life, has a major attitude and I really cant stand her generation lol. I chose my best friend as my MOH cuz well duh shes my bf and cuz we've been close for 8 years. She knows EVERYTHING about me and although we've had a few bumps in the road, we are close.

My family doesnt care and says its the right thing to do to choose your sister. My mother and aunt throw it in my face whenever they have the chance. Mind you, my mother chose my dad's aunt as his MOH (why? we dont know)I mean I do love my sister but I dont see her as my MOH. Am I totally wrong on this?

Re: Anyone not having their sister at MOH?

I'm not having either of my sisters for a couple of reasons. I didn't want to have to choose (I know I could've had 2 MOHs, but personally, I don't like that), and as selfish/silly as it sounds, I know that they wouldn't do the job that I need them to (they'll be 22 and 24).... my MOH is my BF from college and no one would be able to fulfill the MOH title the way she could.

No one was pisssed or upset... even if they were, it wouldn't change my mind. You do what's right for you.

NO! You do who you want. Although, since your sister is 15...how about having your friend and MOH and your sister as a Junior MOH.

I am having both my sisters as my MOH's. I can't choose just one, I am close with both. But its your day, do as you please.

my brother and sister are not in my wedding - they are both almost 40 and kind of over getting matching clothes and taking pictures - they are also both going through major moves ( from an apartment to a coop and house hunting) so i didnt want them to have to shell out the cash

they completely understand even though i was in both of their weddings. . . my sister just made me promise that i would include her in everything like dress shopping and hte bachelorette party which OF COURSE i am going to do

my MOH is my cousin and my one BM is my best friend - sometimes i DO feel bad about it but i think its for the best bc at this point if i DO add my sister then i would have to add a few other people and i am not willing to do that. . .

My little sister will not by my MOH but she will be my BM. She's 20 and I'm the oldest. I chose my cousin as my MOH. I consider her as a big sister, friend, and mentor. She has been there for me in more ways than I can count. I knew she would be the right person to fill the MOH shoes. My little sister is great but at this point certain issues (college, boys, music, and parties) are more important to her than wedding planning. Which is okay by me. She helps me when she cans but she's still kind of in that teenager phase. Everyone in my family is ok with it. They're just glad she's still part of the bridal party.

i am. my sister is 19 we are 8 yrs apart. Even though she is younger, I feel blood is thicker than water. I know plenty of people who had friends as MOH or in Bridal party, and regret it now, They are no longer friends and they are in all their photos.

That is not to say that I am not going to have a friend or 2 in my BP but as MOH i know that I want it to be family. our BP will be mainly of family.
