anyone not know what in the world they are doing??

anyone not know what in the world they are doing??

this HAS to be b/c it's almost that time of the month and i'm extra emotional but does anyone else feel like they are lost in their careers?? like you have so much potential and so many things that you could be doing but you aren't?

i work in a nice office but i don't do anything fulfilling or special and it's not a 'career' job which is my biggest problem so i worry a lot about what i'm doing here and how i feel like i have no plans for the future... there are a million things i could see myself doing but at the same time, school is not for me.

anyone else feel like this?? i'm sorry, i just needed to get that out-- b/c i feel 'lost'...

I FEEL THE SAME WAY!! I'M IN A DEAD END JOB! It's like club med here and I can do whatever I want.. but I know I can and should be doing something else!!!

thank you. it's weird b/c i think i would enjoy school if it was specifically about something that i am interested in doing. i can't decide what i really want to do and i just about have my two year degree but it was like pulling teeth for me to finish it-- i'm just not interested for some reason, i feel like i have no drive.

so my question now is, what do i do? it's a really terrible feeling. i wish i could find a specific program in school that i could do, obtain a degree/certificate and then just DO it.. you know?

yeah, exactly-- most people would probably kill to be doing what i'm doing (a whole lot of nothing) but i just feel so empty all of the time.

I felt the same way, I graduated with a marketing degree and am in the sales dept. Its not what I want to do at all and I just feel like what am I doing??? I went back to school for my masters in education and am now becoming a teacher. You can do it also, You just need to figure out what you really want to do and once you do you will work towards it.

hmm... thanks so much, i feel a little better only b/c i know that i'm not the only one in this position. i HAVE to figure something out to make me happy and so i can feel satisfied.

ME ME ME.!!!

Its scary because I have no idea what my long term dream or goal is...other than a nice house, a nice healthy family, and peace. Thats all. As for career wise...I have no idea.

The cool thing Dani...is we are still young. And lots of things change day to day. Sometimes we will wake up and understand things better. Sometimes we have to allow things to unravel themselves. But I believe there is a plan out there for us, just gotta keep working and seeking and one day it will surface

i completely understand! I am constantly asking myself what am i doing with my life? I don't love my job, it pays the bills, but i'm so envious of people that actually enjoy their jobs! I wish I was in their position. I have no clue what I want to do, and that scares me! So you are not alone!( I'm glad you posted this b/c I always felt like I was the only one who felt this way!)

I just saw this post...I have my two year degree, but i'm trying to finish my bachelors, and i can't stand it! I'm going for psych., since I have the most credits in that, and i'll finish quicker. But I hate it. I wanted to go back to school for art history, but of course, they don't offer any classes at night for that. I totally understand how you're feeling. I feel exactly the same way. I haven't even registered for the fall yet b/c I don't want to

im in the same boat also. i really like my job, well today anyway. but there is no room for advancement so im looking into other options...

So glad I'm not the only one who feels this way. I've been at my job for 8+ years and although I love the people I work with and what I do (well sometimes)...I feel like I have the potential to do so much more. There is not much growth in my company or field. It started as a 'get me through college' job and I guess I'm so comfortable that I can't picture myself leaving. I've always been interested in law but paying for this wedding is not letting me go back to school right now. Hopefully, I'll be able to go to law school in a couple to years. I'm a firm believer in 'its never to late to go back to school'. I guess time will tell...
