anyone NOT renting limos?

all i hear is what a pain in the a$$ they are... either they are not clean, too expen$ive, not on time, yadda yadda yadda...

i was thinking of renting town cars instead, but that is proving to be expen$ive as well. anyone not doing the whole limo/bus/party van thing? if so, how are you handling transportation?

We are not providing any transportation. Our bridal party consists of my sister and friend, and his 2 good friends. All have spouses that would need a ride anyway. I had to drive one of his friends home from their wedding because the limo never came. Its their turn to return the favor.

we are at that point as well, however i don't want my parents, FH's parents, and the 2 of us to drive...

maybe just 2 town cars, and the rest can fend for themselves? what is the cab situation like out on long island just in case someone has had too much and needs to leave a car behind? does it take forever and a day?

We decided to skip the limos. The ceremony and reception are at the same place and we'll all be staying at a local hotel, so we'll just have to car-pool. I just figured that there were more important things to spend money on. JMO

nferrandi, I agree, we skipped the limos for the same reason.

Well, maybe you can just get a car service to pick you up or ask a younger person (18-20) to be a designated driver.

I'm not doing Limos or any transportation.

We're getting married at our hall, so there is no reason for it.

I will come to the reception hall early with my sister (MOH) (I think im getting dressed there, its just easier), and FH will probably drive with either his mom or the best man.

As for everyone else.... find a way to get there! I do admit we have it a bit easy, as we're just having a MOH and BM... so its quite a small party.

We are also skipping the limos. The reception and ceremony are at the same place. I will just hop in the back of my parents car to get to the hall. I plan on being there about 10:30 for an 11:30 ceremony...so nobody will really see me pull up. FH can get a ride with someone from the hotel. My dad does not like this...thinks I need to have the limo...I'm not willing to shell out $165 for a 10 minute ride from Holbrook to Ronkonkoma!

I often hear that this is the biggest source of stress so i'm skipping it.
We will have ceremony and reception at the same place.
Haven't figured out how we will get to hotel yet. maybe just a car service (my parent's use a limo service to get to the airport so maybe we can just book that)

no limos...might do a van or town car for the hotel guests that don't have cars, but we have a few OOT that will drive.....

FH has his mustang that we love, so we'll drive off in that

I'm not... but then again, I live like 5 min from where I'm getting married... correction, my parent's live 5 min away...

We are not renting them. My parents are bringing their car and if we need to we will rent a car. Several of our friends have cars in the city so I figured we could save $$$ in this area.

We are not getting limos, but we are getting a bus to take everyone home at the end of the day. We live in NYC and our party is in long island. Many of our friends are in the city. If we don't take the bus home, we will take a car service. Who needs a fancy limo after the wedding. My ceremony adn reception are in teh same place.

I don't think we're renting limo's because, we can all meet at the hall, we're having our ceremony at the hall. and we figure, people can stay at the hotel that night..
