Anyone not taking Engagement photos

Anyone not taking Engagement photos

I really dont want or need engagement photos, so I did not include them in my photo package. I usually dont like any I see, they are totally posed and what do you do with them all. I have plenty of pics of me and my fiance.

But some people say its good to take to get used to photographer and see if you make any silly faces or blink?

What do you all think?
Any of you whom already had your wedding, not have engagement photos taken?

thanks
Kimberly

my wedding is in 4 weeks, and our engagment will only be 6 months, so we didn't have time or money to do the engagement photos.

i don't think we are going to take engagement photos. we didn't book our photographer yet. i guess we'll have to see what type of deals they offer.

i never thought of taking engagement photos although it does sound like a good idea for the reasons you stated! We had one picture that was taken of us shortly after we got engaged, I went to K-mart and for like 40 bucks on that machine had about 50 wallots made, and sent them out as our engagement photo with the save the date cards. the original is in a frame in the hall, and that's our engagement pics!

When I originally booked our photographer I didnt really see the need for one but as time wore on I figured there weren't going to be many time in our lives where we could get some professional posed photos.

Let me tell you that I am so happy we did them.

For one, we used them on our Save the Date Card and on the Bridesmaids Newsletter. We also used them on our website. We will probably include at least one in our wedding video and I will use the on our wedding program.

Not only that - but we got to meet one of our photographers which was a nice bonus.

I woudln't say that you should run out and spend a bundle on it but if your photographer is nice enough to include on (as mine did) YOU WILL BE GLAD YOU DID IT!

Sonicstef - those are INCREDIBLE!!!!!! Did you make those STD cards and programs yourself?? How creative and unique. Just had to tell you that!!

Also, Kimberly, wanted to tell you that engagement shots were included in my package with VIP. Perhaps he would have given the package to us for less, but I live near the beach and always wanted engagement shots taken there. We're going this summer and I can't wait!!

Designed both myself. I had my STD printed by www.cardstore.com . The programs have yet to be made (I just made the one sample) but Im doing that myself.

thanks all

Marni - thats why I am trying to figure out if I want them or not, cause then I would call John and see if we can include them.

I really dont want them, but I am trying to figure out if it is wise to do

We did them. I was glad we did for two reasons. We got some really great casual pictures and it really got my husband comfortable with our photographer - Imagine Studios

We are definatley doing them and I can't wait!! Our photographer includes them (Creative Compositions) and I think it will be good so that we can get comfortable with them.

Initially, I decided to get engagement photos because they were included in my package. I am glad I did because I now feel so much more comfortable with my photographer. I am also happy we did it because my fiance has a blinking problem - In every nice picture ever taken of us he has his eyes shut! I think a lot of engagement pictures look posed and stiff like you said but your photographer might do something a little less conventional with you - See if they'll go to the beach or the park with you or something - That way they might look a little more natural.

We did not get engaement photos. Before we got engaged we had a professional balck and white photo taken at a very inexpensive price. We had a copy made for ourselves and our parents. We really did not see the need to get an engagement photo too.
