anyone not using a limo

anyone not using a limo

Sooo I thought I was off the hook with having to get a limo. I am getting married at the crescent club so I figured no transportation! I just book a couple of weeks ago so I haven't figured out what I am doing about hair and makeup but my parents live 2 mins from the crescent club so i thought I would start getting ready there. It is an afternoon wedding too, 11:30 ceremony. Now fh sister, who is in the bridal party was saying i needed to have a limo to pick up the bridal party and take them home after. Any help would be great!

Well getting the bp home from the reception is not your responsibility

So then do I need to make sure they get there? The dont all live in the same place is a limo supposed to drive around picking them up? I know these are pretty stupid questions but I hadn't even considered a limo until she said we had to make sure they got dropped off back at their cars.

IMO if you are having a BP and they don't live that close I do think it is nice for them to have a ride there

I have been in about 10 bridal parties. The only time I was in a limo was becasue it was my sister-in-law and we had to drive to a different location for pictures.

I always drove to the reception and drove home. Noone sees me come or go. Or I would get dropped off and my date would drive me home.

You are not responsible for you BP's transportation.

I am not having any limos because I am getting at the RH getting there around noon and ceremony doesn't start till 5:30. No need for limo's

It's a nice gesture for you to get a ride there for your BP however it is definitely NOT your responsibility to see that your BP gets home.

Yea!!! I am also getting married at the Crescent and was also thinking no limo!

We are getting ready in Manhattan for pictures then going to the Crescent. I am not having a bridal party, just MOH, BM. So I was not sure what to do.

I am however getting buses to take people to and from hotel to venue.

Did you book a hotel for the night of the wedding, if so which one?

I may just rent an SUV for us to get to the venue and have my parents and in laws drive so we have a car to go home in.

Too many decisions!!!

Hi!!! I know how you feel b/c I had a similar situation. Initially, I though we could get away w/out getting a limo, but after we planned out the timeline of stuff I realized that I actually needed one. I don't know that you necessarily need one to get your bp home. I mean if they're driving themselves TO the venue, then why can't they drive themselves back? But, if you're going to shuttle them around to a couple of places to take pics then I would suggest you get one just for convenience. HTH!!

it definitely isn't up to you to get your BP home after the wedding, that's up to them to figure out. I've never been taken home after any wedding I've been in, unless it was by shuttle back to the hotel, & I definitely wouldn't go out of your way to spend more $$ to get them home at the end of the night.

we're getting married at our RH and originially i wanst doing limos. BUt now we are arriving a few hours early to take pictures so i thought it would be a nice gesture to take our BP out there since its 30-40 minutes away so we are having just a pick up drop off with a limo bus. however they have to find their own ride home, i figure there will be enough cars there between spouses and dates

in every bridal party i have been in, transportation was always provided for me to the church & reception. we usually met at someone's house (i.e. the bride's parents' house) to get ready and the limo took us to the church/recep. getting home, we took a cab or found a hotel to stay at if it was too far. we like to drink and have fun and drinking and driving is not an option. if you want to provide transportation for your BP home, i think that is an awesome gesture- to be honest, even though i've been left to my own devices getting home, i think it should be the bride's responsibility- if not more so afterward- to ensure that they all get home safely...

your bridal party needs to get to YOU. The limo doesn't go around picking each person up like a school bus. I'm having all my girls meet at my house at least an hour before the limo arrives for pictures and such (if they're not already getting pretty there). If you get a limo, it should just basically take you all to the hall and that's it. It's not up to you to be sure the girls get home. In every Bridal Party I was ever apart of, i was kinda left 'stranded' but there's always somebody to take you back to your car. You said that the place you're getting ready is pretty close, right? Cause then the girls should just leave their cars there. They can find a ride back to the house afterwards. Maybe you can start preparing that ahead of time. Like if the girls have a boyfriend/husband who will need to meet you at the hall anyway, or maybe a family member. there's always a way. But it's really up to you. If you want to get a limo for afterwards, that's fine. But i just feel like that's beyond the duty of the Bride.

a limo to the wedding might be nice but you don't have to worry about how everyone gets home!

I thought about arriving early to take pictures, but I also think it would be nice not to see each other until the ceremony. Whatever we decide though I'm sure we won't need a limo. Also my place has a HUGE bridal suite so I can bring my dress really and just get ready there!
