I've been researching and getting quotes and most are just too much and out of our budget. Is this too taboo not to have a videographer? thoughts? I feel like I might regret it but then again how many times are you going to really watch your wedding video?

anyone not using a videographer?
Have you already booked your dj & photographer? I'm asking because I didn't want to pay for a videographer either but then I found complete wedding packages in east meadow & I'm paying under 3k for photo, video & dj. full day coverage. that includes albums, 3 dvds, a percussionist, a MC & a lot more. I know you can also get just video & not a full package but I'm not sure of the price
edit: just found the info. They're videography company is lunaria productions. here is the link to the video packages they offer http://www.lunariaproductions.com/What-Lunaria-Productions-Offers.php

We initially said we didn't need a videographer and that it was not worth the money, we'd rather have an amazing photographer. Then everyone in the world changed our minds lol. One girl's story basically broke my heart and was the reason we decided to go for it... her father was at her wedding and then died suddenly a month later. When they got the video a few months later, they were able to watch and see him there with them which was so special to them. I'm not telling the story as poetically as she did, but it made me cry lol. We went with Capture the Moment video, her pricing is on their website. Another affordable videographer girls rave about on here is LJR film and I believe pricing is on his website as well (or used to be anyway). Good luck! Let me know if you wanna know details of what we're getting at CTM

I was on the fence about a video for almost a month! We didn't want to spend the extra money but everyone I spoke to said the day goes by so fast and I didn't want to miss anything.

I didn't think I could afford video but when I found out about LJR Films I was able to squeeze it in and his work is absolutely amazing. I'll FM you his pricing because I don't think its online anymore

I don't have video. I don't like myself on film. Plus, it's just a nice to have for me. If the money happens to come into budget for a video, okay fine.

There are levels to video - you could probably find a videographer to film and do minimal editing for a decent price. Once you add cinematography, trailer, etc the editing time goes up for the videographer which bumps the price. My dad has been a videographer for years and every thing in my life is on a video somewhere so i can't imagine not having my wedding not be on film. Ive heard alot of people say you won't regret having it, but would more likely regret not having it. My sister and her husband watch their video every year on their anniversary. For me this was more an emotional choice than a practical one.

I know if I don't have one I will regret it. I've received so many quotes I just don't know who to go with.

I'm not doing a videographer, they'll be enough pictures and family videoing the most important parts of the day

I am not getting a video. We don't feel like its worth the money because we thought how many times are we ever actually going to watch it. Trying to save money where we can! The one thing I did consider and haven't decided about though, is maybe just hiring a videographer to do the ceremony. Definitely would be more cost effective and that's the most important part right so at least you'd have that.

Jack from JL productions....http://www.jlproductionsweddings.com/
I wasn't going to have video, and my husband was against it but I am so glad we did! I watch my wedding video all the time! And, it was great to watch everything we missed. Also, like someone else mentioned, all of your loved ones will be on video for you to look back on..

It's not taboo! But every person that didn't do one that I have spoken to, has said they've regretted it. To rely on other people with their cell phone videos and such, is not enough. Most people don't take as many videos as you think. It's not fair also to expect them to. They're not at your wedding to work; they're there to enjoy it. You'll probably watch back more than you think. At least if you're like my SIL, lol

I felt the same way I didnt want to spend the extra money so we can put it towards other things, but my fiance was insisting on it. In the long run we ended up getting a videographer within a package with our photographer. But over all its all how you feel about it!

We got our picture proof back about 3 weeks after the wedding. And we devoured them as soon as we got home. And they're great, but they're NOTHING compared to the live action video. I haven't received my video yet, but we did get our trailer (in my review!) and nothing can compare. Pictures are great, but the video is where it's at. It was worth every single penny, and if I had it all to do over, I'd still go with video every single time.

Just my personal opinion but I don't feel the need to have a video.

If people have quotes could they send them to me? For a while I was going with no videographer, but the more I think of it the more I want one, but I need an affordable one...

Ditto! I would really appreciate quotes from people if they would be so kind to send them to me!
