Just wondering if anyone was considering wearing one instead of a traditional veil. I'm on the fence between a birdcage and just a hair comb piece. I don't want to wear a traditional veil. Been scouring etsy for ideas and trying to imagine the piece on me with my dress. Just wondering if anyone else was going away from tradition.
ETA: DH not a fan of the birdcage either so I'm just looking for a headpiece. Found a bunch I like. Said he didn't realize he was marrying an old Italian lady. Said his great grandmother used to wear birdcage veils. So scratch that one. His grandmother is also the reason I can't wear Dove moisturizer....she used to and the smell on me freaks him out lol

im not wearing a veil. i got a really pretty hair comb that matches my dress, thats all im going to have.

What does it look like? I'm trying to decide on a clip on the side of my head or a crystal hair comb for the top (thinking of a half up half down hair do).
I'm not wearing a veil because it takes away from my dress - I wanted a birdcage veil but that doesn't go with my dress either - I'm going to look for a haircomb - I saw a kiosk in the mall that had some really nice ones but they kept on harassing me so I didn't get any

lol that stinks. Etsy has a lot that I've been looking at. Lucky for me my mother is extremely crafty and wouldn't have any issues replicating what I find.......it's just a matter of find the perfect piece that's hard. Was thinking of something with ostrich feathers but not sure if it would go with my dress. Probably going to go with a basic haircomb with crystals since my dress has beading.

its very simple just some crystal w/ a small flower. On my dress there is tuleing (sp) under my boobies lol and it goes around to the back, so that makes up for the veil lol ( pics in album)

awww that's too bad I LOOOVE birdcage veils. I am wearing a mantilla veil because it is traditional (I am spanish) but I was thinking of a birdcage veil before I got mine

i dont want to wear a veil either...im going to get a hair piece to go on the side of my hair. Reason Im not wearing a veil is cause i have short hair and would rather not wear one.... im gonna check out esty now...thanks :)
