Anyone NOT wearing veil at all?? (PLS SUGGESTIONS NEEDED)
Repost from 07:
I feel like I may be the only one...my dress just doesnt look right with a veil bc of the lace detailed jacket (pics in album). and from all previous suggestions, best option would be long (cathedral), really plain & no poof veil, but thats a dramatic look IMO, and we're having a more casual outdoor wedding. i dont want that thing annoying me with a breeze either.
on top of just not liking one with my dress, i just dont think im a 'veil kinda girl'! is that weird??
i dont think ive ever seen a bride not wear one for ceremony, other than maybe really casual beach wedding.
PLEASE someone suggest a hair accessory idea- do you think tiara or hair pins or something else. if i do a tiara, id like a really thin simple type of band. anyone have pics to share?
good websites are really appreciated too!!!!
TIA!!!!!!!

How about putting flowers in your hair? IMO, I think that would look really beautiful with your gown without being too distracting.

I understand your grief! I am not a veil girl either and I always felt silly when I tried one on
Then I thought what if I regret it.
I ended up buying a simple fingertip one tier veil and if I change my mind the day of I just won't wear it.

Are you dead set against a veil? I am wearing a very similar dress and i am wearing a veil very similar to the one you have in your album - just make sure that you can see the jacket through it and do not use a veil with lace on it - it would take away from the dress then.
I am def not wearing a tiara though

Have you tried a mantilla style veil? I think that would look really pretty with your gown (which is gorgeous btw!!).
But, if you're dead set against wearing one, I would go for some sort of jeweled clip.
Here are a couple...

I like the plain fingertip length veil in your album.. but if you don't want a veil, don't wear one. It's your wedding

I agree that the type of veil you had on in your album wasn't quite right BUT I think a drop veil would be GORGEOUS!!! Check out eogara's review....she had a gorgeous silk drop veil. I bet it would look awesome!!!
ETA pics:
See how simple and sheer it is? I bet it would work! HTH!

I wasnt a veil type of girl either. I wore two Thomas Knoell brooches (pics of my hair are in the album) and took the veil off right after the reception. Looking back, I'm happy I wore it to the church, it really does make you look like the bride and I even chose to wear the veil over my face at the last minute and I love how it looks in my black and white photos, very romantic and dramatic. You can get ones for under $100, I say get one and give it a try at the fittings, etc and see how you feel.

I am not a veil person either, and I have seen it done where the girl did not wear a veil, and it was fine. I might put a flower in my hair....do what you feel is most comfortable for you!

My SIL didn't wear a veil for her wedding. It just didn't go with her dress and she just didn't want to wear one. They got married outside but it wasn't a big deal. She looked great!

Wow! thx so much for all of the ideas girls!!
I really like the idea of a flower or hair pin. ill start searching.
i dont like the one in my album at all and i took the other one out which was like a mantilla, it had a kinda thick lace trim on it and everyone agreed in a post from a mth or so ago that it really took away from the dress. im just frustrated i feel like i cant find the right style.
i really like the drop veil, if thats what it was called. (would that look funny with my hair mostly down tho?) maybe i can try that. i think maybe i just havent tried enough. my bridal shop isnt accommodating at all, they just get me in and out and dont even treat me like im the bride. she didnt even bring up veil or anything..i had to ask her, which is fine but its just hard to explain, they arent very personable. i need to look elsewhere for veils i think.
what do you guys think about just tiara and no veil?
again thx SO much for ideas!!!!

I think it would be better without a veil-I like the idea of loosely curling your hair and putting a clip of some sort in it, I saw one on haircomesthebride.com that is cool-Its a flower with feathers. i think it would compliment the lacey jacket and sash detailing. Semi-highclass/vintage feel but still modern. Or go with a side comb/flower pins idea. Drop veil would be nice for ceremony, but I would take it off later so it doesn't compete with the beautiful lace jacket.
I plan to remove my veil so I actually have a side comb similar to one here-its in my album.

Link to Tiaras on the site-I think just wearing a tiara would be fine. Honestlly, go with what makes YOU happy, not everyone else.
