Anyone notice...

Anyone notice...

their cats more attentive to you now (or before) that you are (were) pregnant?

My cat insists on sleeping with me and actually prefers to be as close to my belly as possible. I have actually woken up to her pawing at my belly in the middle of the night...not trying to scratch, but almost like inspecting what it is and maybe marking it?! She is so friendly lately and sometimes it drives me nuts! As if I don't have enough problems rolling over in bed...

My cats did that when I was preggo with Luke!!! My sweet Max, my 15 lb cat use to drape her upper body across my belly when I layed in bed. It was the sweetest thing. I'm going to cry b/c I had to put her to sleep last summer, she was very sick and I miss her.

The baby must have heard the purring. Enjoy!

Beemer always slept with us (she has her own pillow at the end of the bed) so I didn't notice much of a change. Beemer is bascially a toddler, she loves tons of attention and to be around Mommy

She is having a rough time adjusting to Molly being here. She just wants me all to yourself.

Our cats haven't changed but then again I'm not the one who is usually paying them much attention. They're basically DH's cats.
I pet them a little here and there but I'm always afraid the huge cat is going to jump on me. (He's 20-lbs.)

WOW! I just thought my cat had gone crazy! She is so unusually needy the past few weeks and has become such a mush.

Sorry to hear about Max!

It's funny you post this, I was just talking to my friends about my cats doing this. The baby has to sleep by or on my belly. she wakes me up by pawing at my belly button or licking my belly. The older cat just does his usual thing. In the beginning of my pregnancy when I was really sick he had to be by me at all times, now he is doing his usual stuff.

Scutches has always been needy but lately he's been extra needy (I just attributed his actions to the 'new' puppy/5 months new that has been in the house). Can't even go to the bathroom without him jumping on me.

My cat started pawing at my stomach before we could hear the heartbeat. It's amazing how they know.

Question: For the BTDT moms w/ cats do they jump in the crib? Or are people unnecessarily scaring me again?

I personally have to say people are scaring you again! Cats will be curious. If you're nervous they have those netted tents that go over the crib.
