Anyone plan to have their gown made or had it made?
My mother suggested that I go into to the city and have my dress maid, which is what she did when she got married. I wanted to know if anyone is planning on having any of their dress made?

my dress is being made -- my mother used to be a fashion designer so she made the pattern, but im having a dress maker in glen cove actually sew it- we are replicating a dress i love- i went into manhattan- tried on the dress with my mom and then we walked around the garment district and bought all the fabric- its actually saving me $2,000!!!!!

I had my dress made and I enjoyed the entire process - from beginning to end. I originally wanted something else, but then changed my mind to something more flattering, and the dressmaker did it!
The dress is complete now, but I haven't taken any updated pictures...so....

I had my $4000 dress made in Asia for $150. There is actually a reputed dressmaker out of Hong Kong that a friend went with. She quoted my $400 for the dress, including delivery.
