Hi Andrea; I just had it done by Dr. Raskin in Valley Stream and I am nine shades whiter! Only thing...makes your teeth sensitive and for 24 hours everything you eat has to be white.

If you don't mind me asking about how much does it cost??

nothing beats crest whitening strips-they make your teeth sooooooo much whiter-and don't believe the hype from dentists that they aren't safe, etc. They obviously have a vested interest in steering people away from them as they want to convince everyone that the only way to do it safely is in their dental chair! I asked my dentist, whom I trust and respect and he says they are totally safe unless you use them very often like twice a month!

I am going to do the bleach trays. I've used them in the past and touch up here and there. They really work well for me. When nad if I get sensitive, I just take a little break.

Gotta have the pearly whites on my day!

I wanted to but it was too much $$ and wasn't sure if it would work.

So I just used ARM & HAMMER Advance White and I thought they looked whiter

I dont know why any dentist would shy someone away from crest strips- and if you feel the dentist you go to only has a vested interest in $$ and not you as a patient then I would get another dentist. yes they work but trust me Im a hygienist and they are NOWHERE as CLOSE to getting your teeth white like the bleaching trays or Britesmile. My boss does the britesmile for 400. A couple of girls on here have come to the office. ANY whitening agent ( not the laser- b/c only a professional can administer the amount) but any that you do at home CAN harm your teeth. If you abuse it def can harm the enamel. this is why the laser is so popular b/c people do abuse the OTC bleaching products. but remember the OTC agents dont have as much of the carbamide in it. very little percentage but enough to do damage if abused and that means anywhere from 4 to 7 days a week. If anyone has any questions please feel free to FM.

Also Andrea if youre a smoker you need something stronger than an OOT product the amount of money you will spend over time to maintain the little bit of white you got from the OTC products will eventually add up to what you would pay for the professional bleach AND when you do Britesmile at least in my office you get trays and home gel too- to always maintain your white! so you get 2 for the price of 1 ! ( the at home trays a mold of your teeth and the laser tx)

My sister did Brightsmile before her wedding and her teeth came out very spotty....I think Crest white strips are absolutely awesome - I highly recommend them.

spotty? thats weird. Ive never seen that I have seen it from the crest white strips it happened to me- we try all new products before telling a patient to use it. if the box has been sitting around in heat ( during transport) the gel looses it potency so not all of the strip will have the absorption to all of the enamel. If she came out spotty it was the person who applied it not the product. but dont get me wrong the crest white strips will get your teeth lighter but not as white as a professional product. I rec crest white strips all the time- but once the patient realizes its not what they expected then we talk about more extensive tx. but rec always to use them first. also if you have ANY kind of spots on your teeth now like from flourosis or just patchy teeth, or from ortho NO whitening agent will even them out just make it worse because the only the enamel will absorb the bleach. also if you have ANY type of bonding even small or crowns or veneers beware it WILL NOT bleach over that and therefore will def be a differnet color on your teeth around the bonding. crowns and veneers dont absorb anything its a waste of money and any dentist that does it is a creep they just want your money.

i did britesmile about 3 years ago-or maybe it was four...senior moment! but anyways i loved it but the effects have worn off...my teeth aren't by any means yellow but they aren't as white. this was expected. i plan on going back before my wedding and getting it done again. i loved the results and really want them to be super white again!

whoever you go to - every britesmile kit comes with the trays to be made and the gel for the patient to take home and maintain your white- MOST dentist are lazy and wont offer it BUT ask for it- inside tip they keep the material so they dont have to buy that much when they make at home bleaching trays. make sure you get them made!!!
