If so how did you begin your searches?
We are looking for info about cost of living, salaries, neighborhoods, house developments, etc.
Thank you!![]()
You can start looking on Realtor.com, you can search for houses in particular areas, and they will give you all the info you need....as per what yor job is, think of what city will best meet your job needs. Then from there you can go to Century 21 or Coldwell banker and they will give you search engines that you can use to obtain info.
We just bought a house in NC...its brand new, in a new community in a great neighborhood. The school district is really good too. The cost of living is ovbiously cheaper than here...if you have any questions feel free to FM me

Same here, I lived in Pittsburgh for law school. It's one of those really livable cities, yet I still missed NY!
DH and I have had several friends move to North Carolina. They now have beautiful homes, but I love our home, too!! We are staying but I cry every time a friend moves away!

Re: Anyone planning to move out of state?
I moved to NJ with marriage and I have my good days and my bad. It's only an hour a way, but I definitely feel the pangs of homesickness. Even though I was never a momma's girl...I still can't imagine getting even further away.I think everyone is different and your relationships are different. I know for myself, I kind of dread going on weekend trips away because I know they'll be no chance of seeing my friends or family that particular weekend. I would imagine that if we lived further away, I would plan every vacation to go see my family and friends and never go anywhere.
We are paying a LOT less for the comparable on Long Island. My condo was ridicusouly less than anything on the island and my taxes are smaller. But that doesn't make up for the loss.
If you can do it, then do it! But for those that don't HAVE to leave and really don't want to miss their fam, I would stay if you could.
