Re: Anyone put satin on flowergirl baskets?
what about weaving a satin ribbon in the fabric where the top of the cylinder part of basket meets the lip? Then you can tie it and create some pleats to deal with the excess fabric.

Tara, did you glue the center of the fabric inside and then pull the rest of the fabric out?
To be honest, all the satin baskets I've seen have alot of material on the inside.. =)

Cut off as much of the excess from the inside as possible without sacrificing the give, glue it down, then take an extra piece of material that is cut to fit the inside bottom of the basket, glue that over the ugly seams on the inside...

Hand stitch through the weaving under the rim of the basket to secure everything. Dont worry too much about the inside of the basket since it will be filled with something.

My mom did the same thing Mistyeyed said for my program basket. But she did it the other way around. THe excess material was on the outside. And all the mess was hanging so she took an extra piece of fabric, wrapped a piece of cardboard around it and started hot glueing all the messy ends to the basket. She then glued the cardboard piece on to the bottom so it looks even.
