Really I don't know why it didnt work for you - must have been a fluke thing. All I did was hi-light the section missing borders and then select the borders option and added them in. Sometimes if a worksheet I'm working in gives me problems, I just copy and paste the data into another worksheet to see if that makes a difference. I've never seen that before tho so I wish I could offer better advice I'm glad I could fix it for you tho

where is the borders option? maybe i was clicking the wrong thing

thank you so much for your help

So you know for future is to make the boxes. There's a little icon at the top that can have a __ or 2 lines or a box. That's what you need to use.

hm ok let me look...what icon is that?

On my excel it's next to the paint can.

I dont have that lol

It's called borders. It can also be done by going to Format then Cells then you'll see a tab for borders. That's how you can create grids or just lines.

There are a few ways to get to it, for me I hi-lite the cells I want to format and then right-click the mouse and choose 'format cells' and then click on the 'borders' tab and then you just select what you want - I'm a big fan of right-clicking

ETA - there is also a drop down menu once you get to the borders option that allows you to select line thickness and color

okay one more dumb question. When I go to print it doesnt print across fully like it will come out the left half on 1 page and right on the 2nd. is there anyway to make it printer friendly?

Re: anyone really good at excel???

You need to change the margins - go to file - page setup - and then click on the margins tab - from there you can click and drag the margins to where you want. Another option is to go to page setup and on the first tab have it drop from 100% to a lower percentage until it is all on one page. Also, you should change the page layout to landscape to give yourself more room. All of this is down on the page setup tab.

Yes, you have to go to the page setup to fix this. It gives you the option to print on one page. It is most likely set up as portrait so you may want to change it to landscape. You just want the width to fit on the page so you can actually have more than one page.

Re: anyone really good at excel???

if its all set up try selecting the entire space u want to print (use the mouse and click from the bottom and the last cell and move the mouse across until everything u want to print is in blue)

then file - print area - set print area

hopefully that works.
