Would you mind FM'img me the ballpark figure that your mom paid for refacing her bathtub?? I have seen ads for that to be done and I was wondering what the cost of doing that would be

THanks so much!!

Does anyone know the estimated cost difference between the 2? I'm curious - we are looking to redo both bathtubs and I'm not so sure I want to go and put in a new tub.

Any info would be very appreciated.

Thanks!

I never thought of refacing a tub either. What I think of when its mentioned is that company that has stands at the mall, that claim they can install their tub over your existing tub to make it brand new. Its not porcelain (or whatever a tub is made of) its almost like a durable plastic.
does anyone know what I mean?
I think Ive seen it at hotels. looks clean and neat, but i wonder how the durability is.

My mom had BathFitter reface her tub about 5 years ago and she's had no problems at all.

I had the tub and walls surrounding it refaced (acrylic covering over the existing unit) by Century 21. If you want specific info, feel free to send me FM.

I think it looks nice, but I wouldnt do it for a long term solution. Ours is in a coop which we dont plan on staying in for more than 5 years or so..... if it were our house, I would have probably done something a little nicer.
