What color sheets, blanket, pillow cases, do you recommend using with it? Is all white - too hotel-like?

we registered for all colors we liked. friends of ours got us a down comforter. Anything will go.

usually if you have a down comforter you get a duvet cover for it, which comes in all sorts of colors and designs!! we have one and LOVE it! i just happen to have a white duvet cover over it because it goes well with our furniture and wall color!

You can get any colors! You should det a duvet because otherwise it will get the comforter will get dirty really fast. I wish we could get one, but FH is allergic to down!

We registered for a duvet cover. If you don't want one, then I think any color would look great.

even if you find a comforter you LOVE and cant find it in a duvet... you could even try.. no one yell at me.. but cut it take out the filling and make it a duvet... That is my plan... i dont want to limit myself to just duvets.. my mom is GREAT with that stuff so she'd be happy to do it!

that's actually a really cool idea--though I would just keep it the way it came and use it like that, then maybe if it gets old and the filling gets flat, I would do what you suggested!
My mom used to make curtains out of flat sheets--if the pattern on my bed did not come in a curtain, she made one for me. And she is not even good with sewing!!
