No, but that seems like a good idea if you want to do renovations.

Can you do that????????????

We did that and Sears.

We have a house already so it was best for us.

Were your guests turned off by the untraditional registry?

ETA: We're closing on our house next month so we could really use tools and paint more than fine china.

No but I had a smaller wedding and we knew all the guests. They asked us what we wanted and we told them what was most practical.

So my registry consisted of lawn mower, garden shed, gift cards.

Others gave us cash.

We had so many duplicates (we were living in our own place before living together) that the last thing I need was a 5th TV or 3rd microwave.

Otherwise, I would have registered for new towels or bedding. But that's about it.

Re: Anyone registering at Home Depot?

We registered at the Selden Home Depot. When I went back the next week to buy a birthday present for my FH, I went to the Customer Service to ask for a printout. The two ladies working there had never even heard of a Home Depot registry. After calling over a manager and finagling with their computer for about 5 minutes, they found it. When I went to one of the registers to pay, they told me they do not have access to the registries there, so it must be paid for at Customer Service.

If you register at one of the stores, the registry can NOT be accessed at the Home Depot website. You have to do the whole registry online in order for guests to access it online.

Given the extra hassles of getting a printout and then paying at Customer Service, I don't know how many guests will not 'follow the rules' and will instead just pay at the regular register and not have the items taken off the registry.

On the flip side, everyone I've mentioned this registry to thinks it is a great idea, since they know that these items will be put to much better use than a crystal bowl. I just wish Home Depot would better educate their staff on the existence of the registries and how to access/update it.

No, FH's dad works there, so FH was totally against it because they can't stand it. But I thought it was a cool idea!

Oooooh maybe I'll tell FH about Lowes....they just opened one in Bay Shore up the block from our house....he would rather have that than China and all that other stuff

ooooh....no one better tell my FH that they have a registry. He's a plumber and he knows all the guys that work there by name.

He's moving up here and we don't live together. We need a lot of starter stuff and that does not include the 15 new power tools that he wants!!!!
