i have a friend from college. we were really great friends, but after college she got married and moved, so we lost touch. just recently we have met up again, and we havent lost a beat, we are back to being good friends again, the problem is i am getting married in august. now i feel bad i didnt ask her to be in my bridal party. the dresses have all been ordered. and she heard me talking about the wedding for a while now. i even mentioned to her who my bms were. i dont even know if she would want to be in the bp, but i regret not extending the offer. anyone else have a similar situation. thanks girls.

Re: anyone regret not making someone a bm???
I had a similar situation where I was friends with 2 twin sisters since I was 5. Well, we lost touch about 5 years ago, and I didn't ask them to be in my bp....until it really started bothering me, and I asked them. I already had six girls, but I couldn't picture not having them share the day with me.

Re: anyone regret not making someone a bm???
I was having a problem deciding who to ask...I ended up just asking family members. And I kept it small on 3BM and 1MOH...the larger the party the bigger the drama...at least that has been my experience

A similar situation happened with me. My best friend of years went away to school and we fell out of touch for stupid reasons. Anyway, we became close again right after I ordered the BM dresses. So I never asked her to be a part of my wedding.
I think she knows that I would have lliked to included her, it was just a little too late. And she has already told me she can't wait for her wedding and Id be in the BP. So I don't think she is bitter about the situation.

I already have 7 girls but I really regret not asking my 2 (step) cousins who I am very close with and I think they are a little upset about it too. Although they never said anything to me. At least they are doing the readings at the church.

Re: anyone regret not making someone a bm???
yes!! My younger cousin, she has been complaining to the whole family that she isn't a BM and I had to hear it everyday while I was home!! My reasoning for not asking her is I have 3 other cousins and she would be more of a hassle then a help, and not to mention her mother would have to pay for everything, and they don't have the money, and I don't have the money to pay for her either!! I had a long talk with my aunt about it, and she said that my cousin will get over it, she really wanted to be in the wedding so she could tell everyone she was in a wedding!! Anyway, I am not going to feel guilty anymore!! Its my day and I can have who I want!!! (right??) sorry for the vent....

Re: anyone regret not making someone a bm???
I oooooooo am having issues. I am only having my sister (MOH) and my future SIL (BM) .....yup only 2! And thats the way I wanted it. I have 3 great friends (my best friends) that I feel badly because I didn't ask them, but I did NOT want a big bridal party. I've been to weddings where it has become a zoo with all the people. Not to mention the burden of extra cost, yada yada.
So, I decided to involve them in other ways, readings at church (which to me is very special), handing out programs, etc. One of them is giving me such a prob and making me feel so bad. Um HI your supposed to be my best friend. Really now, come on.......

Re: anyone regret not making someone a bm???
I had the same problem with someone I would now consider my best friend. At the time I picked my BMs, she was dating FI's really good friend and we were all living together in San Diego. FI was worried that the 2 wouldn't last and it would be uncomfortable to have them both in the party if they broke up. Fast fwd over a year, and we are all back in NY and they are now engaged. I wanted her to have a special role in the wedding, so FI and I agreed to ask her to marry us. She was ordained online and is so happy and excited to play such an important role!
