I am hoping to be a SAHM after the baby is born, however Hubby is self-employed so I am the one carrying the benefits through my job.
I need to find insurance for all 'three' of us when the baby comes and I hear it's very expensive. Does anyone have any information for me? Thankd!!

Re: Anyone 'SELF-INSURED'?
Im a SAHM, I have health insurance for us (me and Emma he doesnt have any). Is there a local group you can join?? We are joining the Peconic Bay Association for like $35 a year and you get group insurance rates through MDNY and a bunch of others. If you have more ?'s just ask me.
To be cheaper you can also have the baby get Child Health Plus. It is $140 a year if you make more than $24000 or almost free if you dont. Just something to think about since family insurance is like $800 a month and for 2 people its 500 plus the baby 140 = $640 (anything to save $$ when you have a baby)

Re: Anyone 'SELF-INSURED'?
I would definitely look into Family Health Plus. They should have a website - do a search on Google.
Check for 'group' opportunities through organizations too. Years ago, if you were a member of the American Craft Council (used to be $35 a year) you could join their health plan. Knights of Columbus used to offer health until they were forced to give it up since they would not offer a plan that covered abortions which was against their Catholic principals, but other Fraternal organizations may offer health insurance.
