Anyone sell stuff on e-bay? Questions for ya..Danielle and Scott...read update

just received an e-mail from someone who bought a playstation from us that we sold. Said that the packaging was poor on our part and the system arrived broken( exact words by buyer were I hear the plastic piece moving inside)...Now what do I do. I didnt offer shipping insurance so he didnt purchase...was sent fedex but he says that the box is intact so fedex won't do anything about it? I've never had something like this happen and I'm not sure what to do...do I offer him a refund?

I would have him send the item back to you....intact. The way he received it, and after you look it over...I would give him a full refund. Do not give him a refund, until you receive the Playstation.

Then if the Playstation is workable or even if it is broken, I would relist it on ebay, and the next time you ship it, get tracking and insurance, even if the buyer doesnt pay for it. I always do this on items that are breakable. You never know what is going to happen.

You see that I said put the item on Ebay, even if it is broken. The reason being, that someone will still buy it to use for Parts or to fix. I have sold 3 broken Playstations on Ebay for $20 a piece. If you have games, and controllers, I would sell them seperately, so you will make more money....

I have sold over 6 playstations on ebay and 1 Playstation 2.

Thank you thank you thank you...I was definitly going to wait till I received it back...do I offer to pay for the shipping he spends sending it back? It came with 19 games too...but thanks for the advice!!!!!!

Nope...You don't offer to pay him for shipping. Shipping is extra....You know when you buy something on the internet from a store, and you need to return it, the company does not give you back the money for shipping. So if he wants to return it to you, tell him that he is responsible for shipping and that you will give him a full refund after you receive the PS1 with all 19 games...fully intact.

Can I ask you what you sold it for on Ebay?

He won it for $75 plus shipping ( no controller...very old games like madden 98 and other 98, 99 00 sports games really)

E-bay expert...is that good or bad???
