anyone STILL going to mexico within the next few weeks despite the craziness?

We're doing a cruise and I just got off the phone with Royal Caribbean and they said the coastal areas are still good.

I would call your airline and/or travel agent to make sure they are still flying there!

i just e-mailed my TA and as of right now there is no issue. the only thing they are doing is waiving the fee but that is only if you are traveling from now until may 6th. so it really doesn't apply to us b/c they really won't know what is going to happen yet.

FH and I were going to Mexico, but we spoke to our TA and she advised us not to go and we can change our honeymoon. She is very honest and straight forward with us. We were going to Riviera Maya and even though the hotels are clean, she said we have to be careful of the workers who live in town or the surrounding areas who will bring it in. She also said the reason why people are dying in Mexico is beacuse they don't have the meds or the care that we have in the US....we are really scared and since we can change our HM we are taking full advantage of it. We are spending a lot of money and we don't want it to be ruined or we don't want to worry about getting sick.

I am going to Belize on monday. its not Mexico but I am only a few hrs south of cancun.
I figure the resorts are going to be scrubbing everything down so im going on my HM and not worry about anything

This sounds like the best way to go about it. Your TA is absolutely correct too with advising you to book elsewhere. Plus you REALLY don't want to get sick while you are in Mexico! It's not the same as the US!
