anyone studying to be a lawyer...

I left my job in February because they changed from a day time shift to a night time shift. I filed a claim with unemployment and the state granted me benefits. My old company is now fighting the claim and I need to go to a hearing. Their statemnt for fighting my claim is completely false and I have every intention of going to hearing and fighting them.
Do you think I should get a lawyer, or can I just represent myself at one of these things? I can probably get some of my former coworkers to testify on my behalf too.
If anyone is feeling generous, you can represent me for experience.
