Men - please do not read any further - Yasmin is a birth control pill!!
I just spoke with my doctor and she is switching me to Yasmin. Anyone have any experiences they can share?

I've been taking it for a year and I'm very happy with it. There was no weight gain when I started and I haven't had any problems. What were you on before.

A friend of mine just stareted it & it made her very nauseous...she is fininshing the cycle according to her Dr's instructions, then they are switching her to OrthoLo....FYI, this is her first prescription, so I don't know if that has anything to do with it.

I was on ortholo for the first two I was on the pill and I acted a little crazy on it, not to mention the weight I gained. Everyone reacts differently to these pill, but my doctor said most people like Yamsin

I am not currenly on BC but was taking Yasmin for a long time. I LOVE it! I have taken many different brands, but this was the only one that didnt make me nutty!

I have been on Yasmin for some time now and while I loved it in the beginning (was on ortho-tri-cyclen and HATED it and then demulen - before)...it is giving me insane hormonal headaches the week of my period. This month was the worst as it turned into a migraine about 5 days into it.
Needless to say, I think 9 years on bcp's is long enough...I'm looking to get off them completely.

I've been on it a little over the year and have not really had any problems at all! No side effects or weight gain!

i USEDto be on Othro Tri Cyclen.. NOW im on Orthor Tri Cyclen Lo....... i never heard of Yasmin.... I've gained weight since i have been on it, but i dont know if its from that or from when i was pregnant. i havent changed my daily routine of food habits, so im pretty upset about the weight gain and im having REALLLLLLY horrible cramps on it.... should i ask to switch to Yasmin? i was on the patch and that was my favorite, but now where im at its not covered and i dont feel like paying $40 a pack every month.... cant wait til i get married! for the Health Coverage!!!!!!!

lolita, Does your FH's plan cover domestic partners? That's how I'm on FH's insurance.

DOmestic partner benefits often cover both homosexual and heterosexual domestic aprtners.
We needed to assert this for Fh's company
1) We're over 18 2) We're not related 3) Neither of us is married to anyone else 4) We live together 5) We are financially interdependent (usually proven with joint bank accounts, etc).
Gender wasn't an issue at FH's job, I'd have your FH check it out.

thanks! as SOON as i read your post i was like 'i told you!' and he was like 'no, only for gay ppl' and then i told him about you on our FH's insurance and he was like 'oh'. well, now we're gonna look into all that, ... since we're getting married in like less than 5 months maybe i should just wait til we're hitched? ......... but thanks for proving im right! lol

It's up to you, but if 5 months of better heath care is worht it,. it is really no big deal. we had to fill out a form and that was it. 5 months!!! AHHH! You're getting married in vegas? Where? I saw a vegas wedding horrow story on judge judy and I thought of you, I was like 'i hope she picked a good place!'
