Anyone that did their own centerpieces

using candles, please post your pictures.
I am thinking of redoing my centerpieces from what I told my florist.

Did you find that doing your own was less costly than haveing the florist do it? Right now my centerpieces will be about $60 per table.

Thank you!

Re: Anyone that did their own centerpieces

I am just doing pillar candles and rose petals on my tables.
I had ordered the candles from Crate and Barrel(on sale)- they come out to be about $20 a table and the rose petals are practically costing me nothing.
I had also ordered runners for the tables that cost $15 a table. Which I had ordered before I even knew I wasn't doing flower c-pieces.
So yes, in the long run I am saving $$$ from not doing c-pieces.

Deedee, that sounds nice.

How long are the table runners? I asssume you are laying them out lengthwise? That is very unique.

Re: Anyone that did their own centerpieces

My hall has very oblong tables, I had ordered runners for the tables that accomodate up to 14 people (15'x144' in chocolate satin-same color as BM's dresses).
I had always loved the look of table runners, and when I saw my hall had long tables I was so excited. My MIL wants to monogram them for us, she thinks that it would make a nice touch. I don't know-Who's gonna see the monograms?
Anyway, I would gladly give you any info you need about the fabric company. It cost so little and I just think it'll look unique.

I am doing my own. I got all the supplies from Michaels. I got the vase for $1.99 each (on sale from $3.99). The candles were also on sale $2 each. It got 6 votive holders (# for $1) for each table with a candle in them (20 for $3.99). So far each table is costing me less than $7. I am going to add one of these options:
1. Rose petals on the table
2. Rose petals in the vase
3. Ring of flowers around the vase
I will see what looks the best and is most affordable. My goal is less than $20 per table.
Here are some pictures.

We are doing the floating candle bowls, but with 3 floating Gerbera Daisy heads and beads at the bottom on top of a mirror and FH wants petals around the mirror. Our hall provides votives. The floating glass bowls are $7.99 ea (seen them on sale for $5.99) the beads are .99 a bag on sale and not sure on the flowers.

My mother and I will be doing my centerpieces and bouquets. They will be in terra cotta pots, milk painted lavander. We are making a topiary out of alstromeria and a small arrangement on the bottom of lavander roses, alstromeria and waxflower. With ribbon and ivy too. The cost is significantly cheaper for us, considering I can get all the flower wholesale through my aunt, who does wedding flowers for a living. But even if you can't get wholesale prices, you definately save on the 'labor' price!

I got my centerpieces from White Barn Candle Co. They are ceramic pumpkins with all autumn color leaves and berries come out of the top. They cost me $40 each and everybody loves them. I bought one and then took it to my recpetion hall to see how they would look on the table and then i ordered them. I'm putting them on the tables with votive candles and the fake leaves (couldn't tell what my theme is right). Hopefully it will look as good as i imagine it will!

Jules that is exactly what I was thinking of doing. Instead of the petals I think I would like to put glass beads in the glass and then ivy around the base with a few roses that compliment my color theme.

I will go to Michael's this weekend. Thank you!

Jenny thanks!!

I love the one with all the hurricane glasses and the one with the hobnail sherbert glasses.

Soooooo pretty.

I have to do some research to find some cheap vases like those!
