Anyone tipping their Banquet Manager?

I've read through the 4 most popular tipping threads and see the Banquet Manager only mentioned a couple of times.

Who is tipping their BM and how much?

We are at the point where we're going to be taking money out and stuffing envelopes.

our Banquet Manager and Matre D were the same person, so yes we tipped...

We made an envelope for our BM, just in case. We knew that her tip was included with the hall, but we made an extra envelope to use at our discretion if we thought she was amazing. We did end up giving it to her as an extra tip because she was wonderful!

We have a seperate BM from the MD, and when we went in for our last appointment, she made sure to mention that the 17% gratuity was for wait/bar/bathroom staff only.

Anyone else want to weigh in? We're a bit undecided right now.

Our RH is charging us 18% gratuity which includes wait staff. The BM told us that it did not include the Maitre D' (tip at our discretion).

No tipping of the BM if they are not acting as Maitre D' also.

If they haven't done more than set my date, I don't see the reasoning behind it personally. Our original BM/maitre'd did just that...booked our date. He did nothing else for us really. I think it becomes a personal decision...also...if the BM isn't even there that day...how important have they been for you?

Now that I'm reading other girl's posts, I guess BM are different at every place. At ours, the Maitre D made sure that everything ran smoothly the day of for us and the guests. Our BM was just for us on the day of. They both helped me when I got a bloody nose at the reception (when none of my bridesmaids knew) and they were very attentive to everything else happening.
