anyone use a college music program for music?

FH and I have talked about this, and are considering contacting the colleges or high school music programs to get a quartet for the ceremony or a band for the reception. Has anyone ever done this, and if so, how does it compare cost and quality wise with some of the other vendors.

I know Stonybrook and Dowling both have music programs although they're both not the hottest.
