i have never heard of that before... i was just saying the other day and trying to think of some nice songs for my band to sing during dinner... i thought with DJ's they usually just put on music
that is kind of neat

we thought so too. we were really torn between a band and a dj so it's kind of the best of both worlds. i just have never been to a wedding that has done somthing like this before. since people will be eating i was hoping he wasn't going to be a distraction where people felt like they had to stop and watch him. i was hoping it would be pleasant backround music. it's mostly sinatra, armstrong, etc.

I am hopefully doing this! I always thought it was so nice and definitly the best of both worlds. we loved gene at tommy tunes but he was booked for our day plus we decided not to go with tommy tunes. I know its alot of money but I think its definitly worth it.

We also booked Tommy's Tunes and Gene. We saw Gene perform at our friend's wedding and he is worth more than they charge for him. We are only having him sing during our cocktail hour and during dinner we will have the DJ play soft-ish music.

I booked with Bravura and they offered that. The girl was actually in Les Miserables and was really good but first I didnt want to spend the extra $ and second my mom said it would be a little too distracting during dinner. People would have to keep turning around to look.

I saw Gene perform at a wedding. He is really good. He sang during the cocktail hour at a wedding at the Inn at Eastwind.

we were having a hard time deciding whether or not to have gene during the cocktail hour instead but thought that might be too distracting. ugh!! now we're having a hard time picking cocktail hour music

We did this at our wedding (Tom Gordon was our dj - he's out of Brooklyn) and we got a lot of positive feedback from our guests.

I am using Body Rock DJ and having a 'Sinatra' singer during dinner. I don't remember his name, but we are doing our finals next week.

I saw him recorded, and he's really good.

IMO, ANYTHING is better than that damn Kenny G they usually play!!!

I think it is a great idea. My friend who used Tom Gordon had a live female singer during dinner and I thought it was a nice touch. This Gene person - is he Gene Santini or something like that. If so I heard him perform at a 50th anniversary in Brooklyn and he was incredible!
