I was just wondering if anyone used adobe illustrator and/or indesign for any of there wedding DIY stuff. I just got all the adobe programs and would like to use it to make my invitations, favor tags, & placecards. Is there anyone that can share how to use them very briefly to me? I know I'm asking for a lot but I would like to use them. Please... Thank You!

i used both programs i'll give you a brief introduction, illustrator is harder than indesign

With indesign: File / New: you need to set the document size. say for an invite 8in by 8 in, (if it says p0 instead of in go to edit/preferences and change Units & increments to Inches)
to import a picture use the tool that looks like a square with a 'x' through it, draw a square the size you want hit ctrl d or file/place and navigate to the picture
to draw a colored shape click to tool next to the picture one underneath are the other shapes and choose the color you need.
to do type hit ctrl t or the T tool and draw a box and type in that. to change the font use your character palette and highlight what you want to change and pick your font/size for centering use the paragraph palette.....

use your black arrow tool to move things, and use your white arrow tool to move pictures in the picture boxes.
to change colors use the color palette, if you can see a certain palette go to 'window'
to change the color of the outline flip the swatches at the bottom of the tool box

Illustrator is pretty much the same tool wise, since they're both Adobe.
I hope this helps its hard to explain these programs even though i've been working in them for the last 5 years.
