Michelle was our DOC, you can look up my review on the bride's review board... she was amazing and she is such a wonderful person... highly recommend her

We used Michelle Nocella - LOVE HER!!!!!!!! My family even called to rave about her - including my sister who noted that Michelle worked her azz off that day

ETA - she is very familiar with your hall. She has done weddings there before and I know she has an upcoming one at Jericho Terrace soon

I too am using her, she is doing my make-up and DOC. She has been such a gem to work with, I feel so confident in her and her services!!

I am getting married at Jericho Terrace (in 16 days!!!!!) and I know that she is working on at least 1 other wedding there too!

im thinking about getting one too? Can anyone give me a quote on how much she charges? I just want to know if its more than what I would pay....i wont bother....

Also what exactly does a DOC do? what are they in charge of? I would like to know what Im paying for and there services

you can check out her website @ definingmoments.com. I called her for prices, it really depends on what you need her to do on that day. The DOC is basically your eyes & ears for your wedding. She makes sure everything is running smoothly, all setups are in tact. If you are having a large wedding then i would def reccomend a DOC. When you go to the website, her michelles number is there and give her a call. when i called her for the first time it was like talking to a an old friend we spoke for about 1 hour!!!! good luck!

We had a ton of stuff on our list.

Most have packages and will just tell you what is included.

Some questions we asked when picking a DOC include:

Will there be a venue inspection (walk through day of)?

Ask if the DOC is familiar with your hall. If not, ask if s/he willing to visit the hall?

Can S/he take care of the display layout, set-up & breakdown of whatever needs it (centerpieces, guestbook, favors, cake topper, aisle runner etc.)

Will s/he take care of vendor confirmation, supervision & management

Will s/he take care of wedding day timeline development

Will s/he take care of bridal party management (making sure everyone is dressed and where they should be for ceremony, pics, toasts etc.)

Packaging of bride & groom's personal belongings (at the end of the night since you will drop off a ton of stuff in the days prior)

Emergency bridal amenities (chalk, sewing kit, copies of contracts, valium )

We also gave Michelle Nocella a TO DO LIST

Make sure bride & groom get to eat - WE ARE TO BE SERVED DINNER FIRST (so we can do table visits while they eat)

Make sure bridal party flowers correct when delivered to hotel

In charge of Polaroid guestbook

distribute Programs

distribute cry packs

distribute rose petal cones

Make sure centerpieces are correct in the ballroom

Make sure favors, table cameras, menus are on table

in charge of aisle runner and rose petal display

transport ceremony items from hotel to hall (broom, rose petals for tossing and aisle)

distribute bouts & corsages (transport from hotel)

Collect table cameras at end of night

hold on to vendor tips/final payments

help with dove release & take care of final payment

Be sure to ask what time the DOC will arrive and how long they will be with you that day. We needed someone to come to the hotel since photo/video/flowers were at the hotel HOURS in advance of the ceremony Plus, we are taking pics with the family & bridal party prior to the ceremony but not seeing each other so we want someone to be in charge of that - making sure we do not run into each other at the hotel or the hall

Things that were not on the list:

Helping me get dressed

getting us checked in to our night of suite and getting our key cards reactivated since the hotel turns them off at a certain time

going to pick up our minister who was lost (which did not end up happening but she suggested it)

I used her for makeup and KICKING myself for not using her as a DOC. She was amazing at makeup but as soon as she left I had troubles and kept calling my MOH over to handle things. I should have gone with Michelle. She was EXCELLENT!!!!!!!!!!!
