I did for a while. My face had started to break out and it was those pimples that just won't go away - they'd be there for weeks and then leave a red mark. So my dermatologist prescribed a retin-a cream and it worked. (I think it was called Differin).

Retin-A makes your face VERY dry... I used it for a while- but it really didn't do too much for me.. now I'm on Accutane.

I used Retin-A a while ago and my skin HATED it! It made me all red and itchy. I think it's very strong, but I also know how well it works for people who don't have sensitive skin. I'm currently using something called Clindamycin lotion and I think it works great!

I used it, but it didn't help much, so I switched to Tazorac.

Re: anyone use Retnine-A (sp??)
I posted this in the thread about birth control pills. I used something called Benzamycin for skin problems, and within two weeks time my skin was flawlessly clear. It was a little drying at first, and my skin flaked a little, but I switched to using it every other day and that did the trick. Now I only keep it on hand in case I get a breakout, but I hardly ever need to use it. It's made from benzoyl peroxide and erythromycin.
LOVE it!!!

Re: anyone use Retnine-A (sp??)
I was on Retin A for a little bit and it didn't do anything (I also tried Differn first and it did nothing). Then I switched to a combo of Retin A and benzacyclin (sp?). I would use one each day (alternating days) before bed or when I higher does- one at night and one in the day (retin in the day). While on this I was also on oral medication as well. (I think I have tried almost everything but Accutane - which I refused...I am not that severe.)
The Retin A did not make me dry at all...in fact I felt it left me greasy. I think it would actually draw out everything and then the benzacyclin would dry me up.

Re: anyone use Retnine-A (sp??)
yes I used it for years and the trick is to only put a dab on the pimple - i mean a TINY dab. I made the mistake of smearing it all over my face and my facial skin literally peeled off! And I didn't even realize - I was in school and went to the ladies room..when I looked in the mirror skin was hanging off my face!
