Re: Anyone using Burtons for dresses?

I was wondering if you could answer some questions for me.

1 - If I pay in cash, will they waiver the sales tax?

2 - I have my dress and the bm dresses in mind. Do I have to order them all at the same time or can I order my dress first?

3 - How much of a deposit do the Bridesmaids have to put down?

4 - How much time do I have to order their dresses (6 months like mine?)

5 - Do the bridesmaids have to go in for sizing, or can they call in their measurements?

Thanks guys!!

1-* i don't think they waiver the tax, bm dress deposits must be cash or check, no credit cards.

2 - you can order your dress first ,and then your BM dresses later on. All BM deposits must be made before they place the BM order though.

3 - my BM dresses are 208 and the girls had to deposit $130

4 - depends on the dress. Mine are taking almost 5 months, but they were kind of a special order.

5 - most of my BM's went in, but one got measured at a store near her ,and then called them in and mailed a check

hope this helps, laura

PS - i've been really happy with them, the women are really funny. Dress selection there is kind of small, but they'll order whatever dress you want.
bridesmaid alterations are capped at $45, i think, unless you need something crazy done .

Best to find the dresses elsewhere and then order them from Burton's. They don't carry my dress but I was able to order it through them. I ordered it at the end of August and it is being shipped the end of this month the beginning of Feb.

I went to burtons back in August which is why I forgot all the details. I dealt with Carole, and she was such a sweetheart. She gave me qutoes for the BM dresses, but at the time I still hadnt found a dress. Now that I have, there's no doubt that Im using them. Thanks for all the help girls. I'll give Carole a call tommorrow and set up an appointment.

I am using them for BM dresses.

I ordered the dresses in the end of November for my May wedding - they said they take 3-4 months to come in. THe girls had to leave a $100 cash deposit. SOme of my girls called in their measurements and I brought in their deposit for them.

Hope that helps - so far they have been great to work with

I'm using them too for my BMs, so:
1 - Don't think so
2 - Yours can be seperate, but yes BMs money all have to be together for oder to go through, which was frustrating for me because that took 2 months between the 1st BM payment to the last BM payment!!
3 - Dress was $180, deposit $80 (prices also discounted depending on how many girls)
4 -my Bms dresses were ordered in mid-december and will be ready by memorial weekend, so almost 6.
5 - they can call in their measurements, but they must get them from a seamstress, one of my Bms couldn't find someone to give her an acurate measurement for almost a month she measured between a size 12 and size 16!!

HOPE THAT HELPED!! (oh, and the ladies there can be moody and snippish, so they detract from the great prices, just MHO.)
