My gyno told me to start it because my period will be interfearing with my honeymoon...but I dont get why he told me to switch? Is it because you can make your period come early with it? Help i'm lost....and he is not in the office and he told me to start it tomorrow!

That sounds like weird advice. My gyno told me that in order to push my period back so it's not going to fall on my wedding day or honeymoon, I need to skip the week of pills which you usually take at the end of the pack and just start a new pack. I'm taking two weeks worth of the new pack so that I push it back 2 weeks. I do take Ovcon 35 but it doesn't make your period come earlier...it's just one of many different types of pills. Are you on a different kind now?

okay so I can just forget about the green pills (placebo) and just start a new pack instead at that time right???? I will have to do the math to see when I get my period then....thanks.. Im off to calculate!

Well... I am on Ortho Tri Cyclin Lo right now also...which I love....but so your saying (and another bride just told me this) that I can just skip the green pills that I take when I have my period and just start a new pack instead of the green that week right? So, then, my question is...when does my period come if it is supposed to come during the green pill week???? Help!

My friend had bad side effects from skipping the green pills and going directly into another pack... she had spotting and cramping for 3 weeks.
There are always side effect, but different for everyone.

I have a feeling he wants you to take it continuously with no break. He may have switched you because the continuous method can't be done with tri-phasic pills and maybe you were on a tri-phasic. I take Ovcon 35 continuously. Some people get breakthrough bleeding with continuous pills but it is a little less likely with Ovcon because it has higher doses than many other pills.

YES! You are so good! I am on ortho tri cyclin lo right now. OKAY, so in the morning I will just start the Ovcon 35 and call him to see what is going on with this. Thanks for posting!

I 'skipped' my period last month and ended up having it for 3 weeks! But at least now I'm on track and won't have it at the wedding or on the honeymoon.
