Anyone w/ straightened hair?

Does anyone have their hair straighted (the Japanese permanent method)??

I do... and LOVE having straight hair everyday with no fuss and especially NO frizz.. but for my wedding I would like to have it curly or at least wavy, but after being straightened, it is VERY HARD to get curls to stay..

Anyone else run into this issue? What did you do, or what are you going to do?

I have japanese straightened hair and I know from this past summer when I had my hair done for my sister's wedding that if done professionally or just really well, the curl will hold. I had no problems and that was in July...lots of humidity...I think you will be fine...BTW, where do you get it done...I go to a place in Woodside Queens???

So your hair stayed curly?? up or down? I was hoping to have half up/half down, but I have long hair and figured the weight would flatten curls.. but you've given me some hope!!

I go to Hayato in Manhattan.. They only have 2 locations and their other location is in JAPAN, so they know what they're doing! Great prices too!

I had it mostly up...but with bigger curls...and they really did stay all day and night

its a SMALL world!! this is where i get my hair straightened too. they are awesome, so nice and very reasonable prices. i also wanted my hair half up half down and curled and don't know if i can do it. i got mind done in march and am considering not doing it until after the wedding. i was actually going to call my hairdresser there and ask him his opinion.

I haven't gotten my hair Japanese straightened in over a year b/c I don't want to run into that problem on my wedding or my brother's wedding which is next month. I started using the CHI hair straightener and all I have to say is that it's WONDERFUL!!! Well worth the price AND you can get it in Bed Bath and Beyond and use a 20% off coupon!!!!!!!!!

I have to second the Chi..it's really an amazing straightner. My hair is about 5 inches past the middle of my back..LOOOONG hair lolz..and I straighten my whole head in about 15 minutes. This thing works wonders..It's by Farouk and its not cheap by any means..about $200 I believe..but I've had mine over 2yrs and its still as good as new ..its well worth the money

I do get that done (need a touch up before moving to PA) but sometimes when I leave it loose when I go to bed, it tends to leave a bend. Plus sometimes I have a rough time curling my hair, thus needed hairspray to hold the curl.

My advice is don't go to that place in Woodside, esp. on the weekend. The owner wants to pay an additional $30 for everyone for tip. What he do is that he keeps most for himself and give little to the ladies. Plus, when I had it done, they left it too dry.
