Anyone wanna help with essay for Priest (to be read during ceremony)???
Our Priest has each of us write an essay about why we're choosing to marry each other, and he will read it (or parts of it) during the ceremony. We don't get to see each other's essay before then.
And I've never been good at putting feelings in writing ...

Why George?
The first time I met George, we didn't speak. At all.
Most who know him well are not surprised by this.
But this also meant that there were no cheesy pick-up lines, no lame excuses, and no stories made up to try to engage me in conversation.
We met through friends, who were best friends in college themselves and are here today to celebrate with us. Our meeting was not planned … and our friends were surprised at the interest we had in one another. And although we had no real contact that evening, I felt drawn to him. I just knew I needed to see him again.
The second time I met George, something really clicked for me, and I somehow knew I had found someone who would have an impact on my life. We talked, and joked and laughed, and celebrated St. Patrick's Day together in Manhattan and had a good time, surrounded by good friends. And since that day, we have not let a day go by where we didn't at least talk on the phone.
With George, I know I have found the person who will stand beside me through tragedy and triumph, from start to finish. His calming influence through the turbulence of every day life is something I have come to depend on and reach for over the last 6 ½ years. This is an attribute of his I particularly admire, and one of many I hope he passes on to our future children.
But what I find most wonderful about George is not that he loves me, or how much he loves me … its how he loves me. His love is so pure and complete and undying and unconditional. And most importantly, I know with all of my heart and all of my soul that he was meant for me, and I was meant for him.
George is so easy to love because I don’t have to pretend to be someone that I am not. I learned early on in our relationship, that he loved me because of the very things other people would consider 'quirky' or 'crazy' or 'wacky' or 'weird.' He has never asked me to change.
And I can stand here today with the confidence of knowing that I found my soul mate. Not only will I share my future with a partner who I love beyond words, but I am sharing my heart with someone that I am immensely proud to call my husband.
