FI got me one and I dont want it, and the store wont accept a return, since he doesnt have the receipt.....I dont know how to use Ebay...so I figured I would just ask one of you on here...... I'm not into these gadgets .....I just won't use it and I dont have the time to learn HOW to use it. It's BRAND NEW, never even opened, has a 2 yr service agreement with it (which was $79), and sells at Best Buy for $399, which is where we bought it......

B/c.....he originally bought me an iPOD that was broken. I told him I really didn't need/want an iPod, since it works better with a MAC. So when he went to exchange/return it, they said it was past their 14 day policy. The only thing they would do is give him a comparable item. So they gave him that RCA mp3/VIDEO player. He thought I might like it better.....but I am honestly not into gadgets and things like that. So now we are kind of stuck with it, and I feel bad, because I know I will never use it. The store won't give us store credit, so he cant even get anything else. he wants a dvd recorder so bad, and I told him to return it and get one of those, but Best Buy won't accept the return. So.....I figured maybe someone on here might like it. He paid $399 +tx and an addt'l $70+tx for the 2 yr service plan.
I am going to try eBay as a last resort......but I figured I would give someone on here a chance, in case they might like to buy it off of us. No tax, and with the 2 yr service plan. Hey, if your guy likes gadgets.....this thing is BRAND NEW and wasnt even on the shelves yet!

This may sound really bad but have you tried to return it at circuit city?? they carry the exact same item and are REALLY good about giving store credit... then you can get you dvd recorder?

that is a good toy. comes in handy if you travel or always waiting.
ipod is compatible with pc now, you shoundt have any problems.. (this lryca is cooler then an ipod anyway)
ebay is easy...might not get full price off of it but you will come close to it (hopefully)
my cousin is a buy/seller on ebay and has a good rank (from what i know). i can see if he can put it up for you if your intrested or ask him how well it will do

I'd bring it back to best buy and complain - get a manager if need be.
I worked there (briefly), and while it may not be their policy to take stuff back like that, trust me, THEY WILL. (We took back stuff that I had never even seen on the shelves - which means it would have to be at LEAST 3 or 4 months old (I didn't work there long, thank god))
Mp3 players are within their 30 day refund policy. (Not the 14 day policy - I think they were giving you some BS about the ipod)

(Oh, we would also take stuff back without a receipt, as well as without BARCODES (ie, someone bought it for the rebate and brought it back with the barcode ripped off - even THEN we'd still take it back))

I agree- talk to a manager and start screaming, if the manager says no ask for a district manager. I worked in retail a long time, trust me- they will take it back!
